African American Movies

Many African American films have chronicled the experiences of blacks in American and have tried to make sense of the discrimination that they've suffered. One of the most fashionable African American motion pictures was referred to as Roots. The movie was actually one of the first miniseries to seem on community television and it remains one of the highest-rated applications in network history. This system would go on to win nine Emmy awards in addition to quite a few Golden Globes and Peabody Wards. The movie tells the story of an African warrior named Kunta Kinte who is taken from his home and compelled to work on an American plantation. The series follows the protagonist for a number of generations till his nice grandchildren finally achieve their independence after the Civil War.
